What do you do for a living?
I am the Pastor for Ministry at Grace Life Church
What areas of ministry do you oversee as an elder?
I work with the ministry leaders in facilities, hospitality, and communication. I also help with the administrative and biblical counseling needs of the church and lead in the development of new ministry efforts as the church has need.
When did you begin serving as an elder?
I joined the pastoral staff in July 2017.
What is your testimony of faith in Christ?
I grew up going to church and believed I was a Christian but never understood the biblical truth about sin and the need for forgiveness. In 2003, by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone, and for the glory of God alone, God took out my heart of stone and gave me a heart of flesh and saved me.
My wife, Christy, and I were married in 1993 and we have 3 children.
What is your educational background and pastoral experience?
Master of Divinity from The Master’s Seminary (2016). My role at Grace Life Church is my first pastoral ministry position.
Where are you from?
I grew up in Missouri Valley, Iowa.
What are some books (other than the Bible) that are favorites?
- God is the Gospel by John Piper
- Instruments in the Redeemer’s Hands by Paul Tripp
- David Brainerd: A Flame for God by Vance Christie
What are some of your hobbies and interests?
I love to watch sporting events, spend quality time with my wife and kids (pizza-movie night on Friday nights!), and read books on theology.
