Statement of Faith

The Bible is the Word of God, fully inspired and without error in the original manuscripts. It alone is the highest and final authority for all matters of Christian life and belief.

There is One True and Living God, who eternally exists in three persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—who are equal in every divine perfection and who execute distinct but harmonious offices in the work of creation, providence, and redemption.

We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, fully God and fully man, who became human without ceasing to be God, having been conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin. He was sent by the Father to reveal God and redeem sinful humanity. We believe in His sinless life, substitutionary, atoning death, bodily resurrection, ascension into heaven, and constant intercession for His people.

The Holy Spirit works progressively to transform genuine believers more and more into the image of Christ. His work is carried on in our hearts through such appointed means as the study of Scripture, prayer, worship, and fellowship with other believers. The Holy Spirit also empowers believers for Christian witness and service while giving gifts for the building up of the body of Christ, the church.

We believe that humanity was originally created in the image of God, righteous and without sin, but through sin incurred physical and spiritual death. As a result, all people are separated from God by their sin and are without hope apart from salvation in Christ.

The Gospel is the good news of God’s saving actions towards sinners through Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ, the eternal son of God, took on human nature, lived a sinless life, died a substitutionary death for sinners, and rose from the dead.

Salvation is a gift that comes only by God’s grace, from the miracle of regeneration through faith in Jesus Christ. Anyone who turns from their sin and trusts in Jesus Christ receives forgiveness of sins and the gift of eternal life.

The church, composed of genuine followers of Christ, exists to worship, serve, and glorify God. All members of the universal church are to be vitally committed members of a local church, where they receive pastoral care and the opportunity to employ their God-given gifts in His service.

We believe that baptism and the Lord’s Supper are the two ordinances of the church to be observed until Christ’s return. The ordinances are reserved for those who consciously place their faith in Jesus for their righteousness and become his disciples.

Jesus Christ will return to the earth, personally and visibly, to establish His kingdom in the new heavens and the new earth. We believe in the bodily resurrection of both the saved and the lost—the saved to endless joy, living and reigning with Christ, and the lost to endless punishment away from the presence of God.

Our Values

We value a gospel-driven approach to life as opposed to a legalistic one (Romans 8:1). Therefore, we encourage people to live for Christ out of love and thanksgiving rather than guilt and fear.

We value the Scripture as the highest and final authority in matters of faith and practice (2 Timothy 3:16). Therefore, we will strive to teach the Bible clearly and faithfully so that unbelievers may find Christ and believers may grow in their relationship with him.

We value worship that is genuine and acceptable to God (Romans 12:1-2). Therefore, we desire to acknowledge God’s supreme value and worth in our personal lives and in the corporate worship of our church.

We value authentic community where people have opportunity to minister to and love one another (Acts 2:22-26). Therefore, we ask all our people to commit to and fully participate in small groups where they may exercise their gifts and experience community.

We value a church where every member has a ministry (Ephesians 4:11-13). Therefore, we strive to equip each unique member to use their spiritual gifts to carry out the ministry of our church.
